MARKETING

Fair Price Shop

Three persons from 3 villages were supported with fair price shops. These villages are interior and these people do not nave any access to nearby market and depended upon weekly market. These people started with grocery and other items like kerosene.

The project initiated fair price shop in tits operational village basing on peoples approach.

Minor Forest Produce

A meeting and training on collection of minor forest produce was organized at filed campus for days with 15 women from 5 villages as participants. Discussion was made with the registered women's societies to take lease on NTFP items like tamarind and broomsticks.

The processed goods are marketed in similitude and Visakhapatnam.

Vegetable Marketing

12 tribal marginal farmers from 6 villages were supported by project with financial assistance through PO. The middlemen in this area are exploiting the local farmers and they are undoable to get fair prices for their vegetable production. These farmers are organized and purchasing the vegetables by paying price to the local cultivators and selling it directly in the market.

Entrepreneurship Training

Entrepreneurship training was organized at field office for seven days in 1998 and 16 people from 6 villages participated. The training is mainly organized for those who are engaged in petty and small business such as broom making, honey, leaf plate etc. During the 3 days training was imparted on generating business idea, resources, fining out about the market, selling, profit and loss account etc. by meeting a successful business man.
